The first thing God told Adam and Eve to do was in Genesis 1:28 NIV God blessed them and said to them, " Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Gay couples cannot obey God on that one.

Gay couples cannot obey God on that one. Neither can many heterosexual couples. I don't think procreation is a Commandment, but rather was a necessity at the time.

One area of the Bible that interests me is the words used. When I see a word used I like to look it up and find when it was first used and where. In this case it is the word marriage. Marriage is old French from mariage. Wed is old English from roughly 900ad. To marry is exclusive to English in middle to early English. Since the Bible as we know it was rewritten sometime after 900ad what was used prior to 900ad? or was it inserted to make the scripture fall in line with the norms of the day back then?
I truly believe that the Bible we have today does not represent the Bible as it was first put down in scripture, it has been modified and rewritten many times over the centuries. That is one reason I prefer Coptic Bible since it is really the first true Bible untouched by later mankind. Coptic Christians were the first Christians and the closest to Jesus and would have had first hand knowledge of His life. It is a shame that most of the Coptic Bible has not been translated and most of that is due to the ancient languages used and the lack of people able to translate it.
When two people are under the influence of the most violent, most insane, most delusive, and most transient of passions, they are required to swear that they will remain in that excited, abnormal, and exhausting condition until death do them part. [G.B. Shaw, preface to "Getting Married," 1908]

I had post in Sydney's room a while back in it I told of having a brief encounter in the gay life style ( when I was young). I thank God I managed to pull myself out of that mess. It's not a glamorous Life style, you can meet some of the lowest living people on earth. What you see on T.V. as loving couple's with children is not the norm. Gay's as a general rule don't live near as long as the rest of the population, I've heard it said gay's don't hurt anything, it's their business, well apparently they do.
I would support a civil union between couples of the same sex. Where they would have all the benefits as married people, but not marriage.
This country has a habit of caving into any group that gets noisey and disorderly, unless you're a normal straight Caucasian in which case you will be beaten and imprisoned.

matafor . 'Lets see, I believe you supported a national driver's license a while back."
What ? I have no idea where you got that. You are dead wrong. I have never supported a national driver's license
And as far as the description of all the other types of driver's license, they may be available, but they are not mandated.... yet. I really have no idea where you come up with some of the things you say. I am rarely in favor of anything Federalized that could be handled on a state level.
matador : You fail to see that congress can and does make law and that IS in the Constitution, "
No, I don't fail to see anything. I had basic Civics in the 6th grade, You should be talking to Obama, since he's the one who apparently doesn't recognize the role Congress plays. He wants to legislate and EXECUTE everything himself. Yes, Congress CAN make law, and the SC CAN overturn it. You have confused Congressional law with Constitutional law. These are two completely different and separate things.
AND, the SC justices are only as non partisan as the President who appointed them. Otherwise ,they would have all applied their reading and comprehension skills in the ACA subsidies ruling.
Obama and Co rushed this law through Congress, a law that was primarily written by an outsider ( meaning someone other than a member of Congress ) then were stupified when people challenged the faulty language. Any law student knows that laws hinge on good, solid language. This law is riddled with faulty language because it was put together on the fly. Remember Pelosi''s comment " "We'll have to pass it first to see what's in it" If that's not THE most stupid, outlandish remark ever made by an elected official, I'll buy YOU a quarter pounder with a super sized Coke. That statement will be her legacy, and a well deserved one at that.

Since this is a Christian forum, this thread has now turned political. I am going to recreate this thread in the political forum for issues that are beyond those of the religious concerns.

It must be Sydney, yeah it's Sydney, heeeeey I am Sydney. There must be an unknown, unidentified person in here. I'll check it out and get back with you.

Or telling someone they've lost their 'credibility' simply because they don't agree with you ? That kind of 'bully' ? Yes that does happen from time to time.

Yes, I do know the difference between persecuted and prosecuted.

Laws prosecute people. Bullies persecute others. I don't think you know the difference.

I think it's profoundly immoral and makes a joke of marriage. It erodes the moral fiber of the country. I think that eventually it will bring God's judgment down on this country. In Minneapolis the police chief is a lesbian and she married a sergeant in the same department. Chief Janee Harteau and Sgt. Holly Keegel are now separated though because of the job I love says Harteau. Interesting and different.
