John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it (life)more abundantly. How does handling snakes within the confines of religious beliefs fit the above scripture? People are dying, women and children are being abused and the leadership promotes it. Spurious faith. I agree. That's the outcome when one group bases their entire spiritual belief system on one or two verses taken ( out of context ) from the Bible and dismisses all the rest of the scriptures. One of my Grandmother's favorite examples was : 'Judas went and hanged himself".... " Go thou and do like wise"
( Probably not verbatim, but you get the idea. )

People think that these people are admirable for following their beliefs, that is not what they are doing. They are testing God, reinterpreting the Word to suit their egos, and putting a lot of women and children in danger. And the law turns its head the other way. They should all be arrested. If nothing else, then for child endangerment. Where is social services?

I don't know what other people think., but I never said they were 'admirable'. I think law officials sometimes turn a blind eye, because it will be an uphill battle with religious rights being at the center even if it conflicts with civil law. Officials also probably don't want to spend the money if it comes to a jury trial because they know it won't be an automatic slam dunk. And how will officials obtain poof positive ? These groups are very suspicious of outsiders and would red flag any person attending a meeting that is not known to them.. that would be tricky

Even if it conflicts with civil law? That would include laws governing businesses too wouldn't it.

If you are talking about the gay thing and people refusing to serve them, you have someone willing to bring a law suit. Who among the snake handlers would bring a suit against their own ?

There is sharp you are. lol Yes I was referring to the homosexual thing and people refusing to bake a wedding cake for them. The snake handlers do not know their arse from a hole in the ground, much less file suit against anyone.

None of their members are willing to bring suit and be ostracised by the entire community of snake handlers. That would bring down their entire lifestyle in the church and the community.

Yet you must admit there is bias there concerning whose religious beliefs are protected and whose are not.

Then why are the bakers being prosecuted. They just threatened to send one to prison for 12 months.

Blacks and handicapped folks are not included in this at all. This is about religion not sex, race, or disabilities. Religion. Whether they hold a business or not they are entitled to freedom of religion and part of that is not to bake a wedding cake for those they believe are asking them to serve them in violation of their religious beliefs. How can anyone include blacks with homosexuals? Black people are of race, it has nothing at all to do with religion. Nothing.

Discrimination against a particular group. The group being homosexuals.

No it is about homosexuals trying to force their perverted lifestyle on others who do not appreciate it. And they are targeting the Christians who they know for a fact will not serve them because of their beliefs. Discrimination has nothing to do with it. And what about those who do not remain homosexual? Where does that go? Since they are born that way, not, then those that leave the homosexual lifestyle were never homosexuals to begin with? That is what the atheists say when an atheist converts to Christianity. Well they never "really" were an atheist anyway. Bull more poop.
