Let's see, republicans have conspired to make it fail.......why is it a surprise that it hasn't worked out as well as it could.

Actually I voted for Obama twice. I think Hillary will do a far better job.

Islam does no such thing. Mohammed Ali is a Muslim. And he is one of the gentlest men on the planet. Suggesting that Islam encourages radicalism assumes that radical Islamists represent Islam. That is exactly like saying that David Koresh represented all Christians. He doesn't, and they don't. Do you know any Muslims on a personal level? I have and do. What happened in Paris does not represent all Muslims.
I worked with one Arab man but he was Iranian which does not qualify as a Arab, He would fly off the handle at the drop of a hat. He told me he loved hot apple pie with ice cream, yeah he was some what westernized. Mr. O, If you are right I wish I could see it the way you do, but I don't, neither do a lot of other people. So now we are talking about Arabs, are we? If that's the case, then the ringleader of the Paris attack (and several of his cohorts) would be allowed into the U.S, because they weren't Arab. He was Belgian, and two others were French nationals. Block ever Syrian refugee from this country and you won't stop them all. In fact, no refugees were involved in the Paris attack, so the argument for banning them is plain stupid.
Yes, a lot of people do want to see them blocked, primarily people in the south. But bigotry is standard issue in the south, so that doesn't surprise me in the least.

Neither Rand Paul nor the GOP Eagle is my cup of tea, and admittedly this is a few years old, but let's look at Louisville, Kentucky for moment. In Louisville.... "Arab" is close to if not an actual race. Arabs can be most anything, including Christian and Belgian. A Muslim is an adherent to an ideology called a religion, and isn't necessarily an Arab -- in fact a Muslim can be white Anglo-Saxon.

True. The principal adherents to Islam are middle easterners, but there are also millions muslims in Africa, indonesia, and other countries around the world.

heh, well guess i don't know everything n Thanks for correcting me. I am guilty of making the assumption since it was in the middle east that Islam started from what I have learned.

Sooo, O and tinny you guys are in the minority.

If we stop the Syrian refugees from coming here, the Jihadists will be very very happy. The refugees were their victims. For their victims to escape and find happiness would be a defeat for the Jihadists. President Obama is an enemy of the Jihadists. The conservatives are enemies of Obama. So of course the conservatives are friends of the Jihadists. In fact we see many similarities between the Jihadists and conservatives. Both of them oppose equal rights for homosexuals. Don’t trust the United States government. Believe abortion is murder. Want a nation based on theocracy. Believe women should be subservient to men. Think our education system should be based on religion instead of science. Want to oppress the religious freedoms for every religion besides theirs. Oppose access to contraceptives. Aren’t opposed to a violent overthrow of the federal government.

Again, will, What the republicans are doing is shaming this country showing how lacking in exceptionalism the US represents in the world. Further it shows that France has far more class than the US who indulge in bigotry because they are so fearful of anything that is different.

What I care about is that what the republicans are doing in the house is shameful. Even France, the victum in the terrorist act, had the compassion and the class to say they are still dedicated to helping people in need. Something that should be a no brainer in this country.

That ain't the same as "conservatives."

If you take a look at the second entry on the left, you'll see 27,295 jihadi attacks (supposedly) have take place since "9/11" (as of about today, 11/20/15). While the figure may not be accurate, there's a lot more to it than France. Popular Statistics for the Religion of Peace

Erm "Popular Statistics for the "Religion of Peace"? Really? Could their bias be any more plainly demonstrated?
