A big question For rdlb or anyone else. What does this mean? John 10:16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold (pen) or (flock): Them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold (flock), and one shepherd. The Gentiles. But not the Hittites.

Israel and Judah became two separate nations or houses during the reign of Rehoboam, Solomon's son (see I Kings 12). The nation of Israel, the northern ten tribes, were conquered by the Assyrians in 721 BC, and many of its people were removed to the area near the Caspian Sea. Eventually, the tribes migrated from there into northwestern Europe. Thus, the "other sheep," or the lost tribes of Israel, were not in Judea during Christ's ministry.

True concerning the Jews and the lost tribes, however, consider Paul's message to the Corinthian Church. 1 Co 12:12 For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ. 1 Co 12:13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

The Hebrews can be traced back to ancient Persia. This may be their origin. Then they migrated west into Mesopotamia and were enslaved by the Babylonians. Then they migrated further west and were enslaved by the Egyptians. Things began to improve when they left Egypt and slaughtered the people of Jericho, enslaving the people in the lands around Jericho. The people of present day Syria (more or less geographically) were the Hittites at that time. The Hebrews considered them to be descendants of Heth, a descendant of Ham through his son Canaan. They were eventually conquered by the Assyrians (Babylonians). The Hittite religion had more than one God. "'Storm gods' were prominent in the Hittite pantheon. Tarhunt (Hurrian's Teshub) was referred to as 'The Conqueror', 'The king of Kummiya', 'King of Heaven', 'Lord of the land of Hatti'. He was chief among the gods and his symbol is the bull. As Teshub he was depicted as a bearded man astride two mountains and bearing a club. He was the god of battle and victory, especially when the conflict involved a foreign power.[47] Teshub was also known for his conflict with the serpent Illuyanka." They were therefore Semites with a different religion. This was considered a more grievous sin than for a gentile to worship gods other than the Jewish god. The apostles would rather welcome Romans into their fold than Semites who worshipped a pantheon of gods.

1 Corinthians 12:12-14 12 For the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. 14 For the body is not one member, but many. That was speaking about the body of Christ (The Church). Rdlb, I said that on the first page....we agree then.

Yes I know , however, in my reply I ment to underline "whether we be Jews or Gentiles", in response to the "other sheep". Paul's messages concerning the Jews never mentions the lost tribes; since the Old Covenant was done away with and replaced by the New Covenant, the lost tribes do not fall into the category of "other sheep". Sorry for the confusion and yet I do agree with your quoted reply above.

The new contract, is the greatest contract ever written. The old contract is an account of a nation (the Jewish nation). The new contract is the account of a man ( the Son of man). The nation was founded and cultivated by God to in order to bring the man, Christ's earthly mission.

No church no religion is the "true" church. Most if not alll churches and religions have elements of the truth. Few of any of the churches and religions practice what they preach.

You remind me of the two buffaloes that were galloping across the lone prairie. One came to a screeching halt, so the other one came back and ask.....whats wrong and it said shhhhhhhhh, I think I heard a discouraging word.
