I saw that when he reported it. I thought wow this guy is kinda brave, it turns out he was not. No more tea and cookies for you Brain.

The news is reporting that Williams has stepped away from NBC news. It seems a bit extreme.

He has stepped away 'temporarily' of his own accord. A final decision will be forth coming by NBC.
I like Williams.

If this is to be an example of public trustworthiness, then every one who has 'misspoken' should step down, starting with Obama.
I stopped counting his 'misspoken' moments shortly after he said 'I will' in 2008

Someone like Williams makes a mistakes and immediately they go for the jugular.

He's been suspended without pay for 6 months. He should have been fired.

Kind of a shame but Brain liked to inject drama into the news, most days there's enough drama with out his help.
We have a weatherman here that adds keys words like brutal.....enough, just give the weather, no drama needed.

In the early days the news did not make much money to even break even. As time went on the news had to become more profitable and so they looked for ways to improve "profitability". Brian augmented the stories by inserting himself into them, people identified themselves with him. In this day news has become more entertainment and manipulation of the masses than "news worthy" reporting. www.prwatch.org/news/2014/09/12610/who-stole-television-news
