Too many preachers preach a Gospel of abundance where every believer has his share of the pie. Jesus preached a Gospel of salvation. That's the way it should be, the abundance preahers are the only ones getting rich as far as I know. They have twisted the Gospel into something it's not, shame on them.

Are you speaking of preachers such as Joel Osteen ? I don't see anything wrong with telling us that God wants good and bountiful things for us here on earth, but one must pass it forward.

I didn't have him in mind when I wrote that. He's a motivational speaker. I'm talking about preachers that put prosperity ahead of salvation.

I don't think I've personally ever heard anyone preach that prosperity trumps salvation. I'm sure there are some that so, I've just never heard them Well if you were to ask one of these preachers they would of course say salvation was more important, however 75% of their preaching is on prosperity or healing and not salvation.
I heard one of these preachers one day that is very wealthy. He said yes, I have a lot but I used my faith, use your faith and get what you want or need. When he said that I thought yes you used your faith and our money. People like this I avoid.
I listen to Joel Osteen, he's one of the better ones. I use to listen to his father John Osteen. At times I listen to John Hagee.

The Gospel has been getting twisted for a long time. So has that of Mohammed. And of Buddha. That's what happens, as time passes, in any religion. People opinions evolve, not always for the best, nor the worst.

When I was younger and where I was raised if someone told you something you could count on it. Today if you take someone at their word it's almost foolish. A person's word means very little anymore less it might be family.

Anytime the "mind of man" gets involved and confirms things with their affections and lusts the Gospel gets changed to support them. Is there anything new under the sun?
I prefer the revelation of Who He is and how to know and live the will of God. See Matthew 16:13-19, 1 John 2:17 & 27, John 7:17, Matt 7:21 1 John 3:22-23.
