Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. I wonder if he could remember their names? Seems a bit extreme perhaps he needed a hobby, or maybe marrying women was his hobby.

And just think : That was long before Viagra became a household name. Viagra would have taken a huge chunk out of his budget.

Solomon wrote Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and Songs Of Solomon. I cringe every time I read these books but they're in the Bible. Towards the end of his life Solomon was a very bad person. He had many foreign wifes which God told him not to do. He sacrificed his children in the valley of the son of Hinnom. Solomon is not my favorite Bibe person nor are his books. When reading the Bible and I come to his books I feel like skipping them, but I don't.

Solomon, one of three very important kings of Israel. Saul, David then Solomon.
A simple summary: Israel desired a king like the nations around them. The beginning rejection of the One God as their ruler. Saul was chosen. Saul was later rejected as he rejected the word of the Lord and regarded iniquity or stubbornness in his heart. David was selected as one who sought after God's heart. One who united the children of Israel and who subdued all of the enemies surrounding Israel and finished all warring. David's heart was to build the temple and yet God only allowed David to supply the materials for the temple, since blood from the warring was on David's hands. Solomon, out of David as a son, was allowed to build the temple at Jerusalem ending the tabernacle in the wilderness. Thus bringing the Ark of the Covenant into the city of Jerusalem ("teaching of peace"). Solomon's prayer indicated a humility and subsequent leadership qualities.

Everything you have said it true but towards the end of his life he was in gross sin and turned his back on God. Unlike many men in the Bible that started off bad and ended up good (example Paul) Solomon started off good and God blessed him but ended up a terrible person.
Can you see any similarities between David and Solomon? David sought after God with all his heart, Solomon sought after women with all his heart and everything that goes along with it.
I don't think those 3 books should even be in the Bible.

I presented the simple summary with a positive take on what the letter indicated. There is however the negative found in the literal printed letter concerning the three kings. In time, as I can, I will present a spiritual application to our lives revealed in the letter finding these kings within ourselves.
