I live in Louisville, ky and we've had them here for years. I've had two face to face encounters with them and even though it scared me it resulted in no harm. You do have to keep an eye on your pets, especially at night or they might come up missing, it happens often.

Wow, I've never seen a Coyote outside a zoo. These have unusual tails, very thick and wide, much like a raccoon.

These animals come out largely at night, they are very stealthy and walk in the shadows. They have adapted well to urban life. They like any carnivore will eat anything they can tackle but have adapted to robbing dumpsters and trash cans as well.
