I have one I try to live by...if possible. I met an elderly man years ago and he gave me his take on life in general. He said I just refuse to let another man treat me better than I treat him. I've never came up with anything better so I've adopted his. We need more people that believe like him.

Sometimes people fold under pressure when they are the only one who hold a particular point of view. It would sometimes be easier to go with the flow, but if that's not really how you feel in your heart and mind, you're just being a big fraud. In one form or another I've gone against the flow most of my life. I just can't bring myself to agree just for the sake of agreement, if I really don't hold that POV.

I wish I could be a little more like that. Other than my faith in God, I compromise on most matters.

I never even thought about having a motto to live by, and I don't think I want one. You have to keep seeing if it applies.

It's like looking in a mirror, it reminds us of who we are.

Compromising, in some cases, just means that you agree to disagree or that the matter simply is not worth arguing over. But if there comes a point in which I have to voice an opinion, a solid opinion, I don't hold back. You know the old saying..." You can please some of the people some of the time... but you can't please all the people all the time."

Rom 13:8-10 Let no debt remain outstanding, except the continuing debt to love one another, for whoever loves others has fulfilled the law. The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. www.biblemeanings.info/johnodhner/Love.html
