Multiple stabbings, some life threatening, at a Pa. high school Although most attacks of this nature are from gunshot, stabbings are up close and personal. This is proof that if a person decides to kill, maim or injure, they will find a method. www.aol.com/article/2014/04/09/police-pa-student-flashed-2-knifes-injured-20/20866063/?icid=maing-grid7%7Cmain5%7Cdl1%7Csec1_lnk3%26pLid%3D462974EXPORT, Pa. (AP) - "Police have identified and charged a 16-year-old boy accused of stabbing and slashing 21 fellow students and a security guard at a Pennsylvania high school. Authorities say Alex Hribal was being charged as an adult following the Wednesday morning attack in Murrysville, 15 miles east of Pittsburgh. He appeared before Magisterial District Judge Charles Conway and was charged with four counts of attempted homicide and 21 counts of aggravated assault. He was shackled by his hands and feet and was dressed in a hospital gown. The teenager's family lives in a two-story home with an attached garage in a nice subdivision of large, newer homes there. No one answered the door or phone calls. The FBI was at the house Wednesday night. Neighbors say the teenager is the younger of the family's two boys." ( Just a thought on my part..Why is it necessary to put emphasis on the socio economic environment the perpetrator comes from ? Is it that important ? We know that all sorts of crimes have been committed by people from all economic and social classes)

That's true but normaly it's thought that kids from well to do families are less likely to commit these violent crimes. I don't know what that kids mental state is but when he wakes up in the morning he's going to face reality. That kid for all practical purposes has ruined his life. I feel sorry for his victims and his parents.

I feel sorry for his victims and his parents. But lately some of the most heinous crimes, such as multiple shootings, the perpetrators have come from affluent families. Columbine Newtown.. just to name a couple. Do these kids operate under the radar, or are there clues, markers that just go unnoticed ? I find it hard to imagine these kids just 'snapping' without some prior changes of personality or behavior. I could be wrong. I am excluding Adam Lanza in this, because it was a well known fact that he had multiple emotional and mental disorders.

Leopold and Loeb, 1923. Affluent teenage criminals from an earlier era. The Bobby Franks murder trial. Nothing new under the sun, is there?

I need to refresh my memory on those, but they sound familiar. Also, Lizzie Borden, the daughter of a wealthy Bank president, textile mill owner and land developer. Although acquitted of the crime, doubt remains after all these years.
