( carpathianpeaseant: 'FYI, lady: I bookmarked and read through your site days ago when I first saw it. It isn't wise to underestimate people, especially if you propose to preach as to what is right, true, best, etc." ) LOL. that is the ultimate irony. You are telling me something I said wasn't WISE, then to go on and accuse ME of " preaching" . Is it, right, true, best.. to tell me I've said something unwise ? I would hope most people don't think it's 'RIGHT' OR 'BEST' to make a profit off the suffering of other human beings.. but that's just my opinion.
Let's see.. " The Trail of Tears".. " Right'? That would be a definite " NO' Nothing about it was ' right"..
"'True? Yes it was actually true' , it was an historical fact.. " Best ? Best for whom ? Certainly not the Native Americans The title " Lady" is generic, it would help to know who you are speaking to, but since I don't have a 'site' I take it be dayrain.. She posted a 'Cherokee site' under ''favorite sites. I've never posted a 'site' You seem to use the term 'preach' quite often. So now is everyone 'preaching' who offers their own personal opinion ? You'll need to expand on what you are talking about in order for us to fully understand your statement. Everyone has an opinion on what's right, true, best etc. So who is being 'underestimated' ? As far as underestimating someone.. that, too, goes to personal opinion. We all have one.

Once there was Native American remains dug up at a construction site here. Company officials met with members of AIM and I was with them. I met Chico Dulak and Tom Pierce both with AIM. A few days later this Seminole man showed up and they had me to talk with him. I was surprised how big he was and how dark, he was actually black. Yes, some Seminoles are very dark. A dear friend of mine is Seminole and I have gone with her to Pow Wows. The Seminole are a very generous and friendly people. I enjoyed my time with her family. They made me feel very welcomed. It is an entirely different experience apart from the 'tourist' shows they have had to produce in order to bring in extra income. sixdirectionstraders.com/calendar.html

Well, you sound like a female, and I call a human female "lady."
And, why are you making an issue out of the "etc."?

Hummm. Why are you making an issue of any of this ? Is this your cross to bear? Etc is an unknown.. so obviously I would need to know the contents of 'etc' to know what you are talking about. But don't take that to mean that I really care to continue this with you, because I don't The original conversation was between dayrain and myself. We had a disagreement. She stated her stance and I stated mine. Period. I don't need her proxy to continue in her stead.. You can see my name is 'skylar' addressing me as 'lady' is like saying 'hey you ' The Indian Removal act was, as I've said before, one of two great American acts of brutality and acts of inhumane treatment against fellow human beings, the other being slavery. To try to down grade it and call it 'baloney' should offend every morally thinking American. There is no way to defend it, there is no way to take the facts and sugar coat them and try to make them benign Now it's my time to say " I'm done' or more correctly, 'I'm finished'

OK. I'll bite just once more.Your comments are so vague with no reference that most people have no idea what you are talking about. Which particul 'comment' would that be ?
Even though your comment may have been in reply to Sydney's post. who cares ? It was the same subject that caused the fray between dayrain and myself.
Taking things back to ancient history had nothing to do with the Indian Removal Act and what a wonderful person of value Andrew Jackson was.

It's right there on page one, message seven quoted in message nine.
Just because seven was deleted from nine for the nit-picking doesn't mean it was deleted from the original posting.
And, Dayrain is not the only one not going to hang around for more of that.

That would be your choice to make. No one is here under duress.
The board is called 'Rants' I started off by saying I was sorry that dayrain felt she had to leave over a disagreement. I feel the same abut anyone else who says they 'won't hang around' Discussion boards are obviously for discussion. If you think everyone will agree then you are in denial.
You accuse me of 'preaching' , you've done it several times when I state my opinion...should I quit because I've been 'offended'.? I think not. That's not in my DNA. 'Discussions usually have two sides. otherwise what's the point ?

A number of years ago I had a book titled Bury my heart at wounded knee. I have been looking for it but can't find it, I want to reread it. Looks like Amazon is going to get more of my money.

Personally, I hope God, if there is one, leaves me alone. I'm quite happy to die and be done with it. I have had happy days and sad ones. That's life.
Andrew Jackson was a coarse, mean person, and hurt a lot of innocent people. Nothing I can disagree with there.
