Shoulder Injury Related to Vaccine Administration. I believe this is what has been giving me problems with my shoulder following my COVID booster. I have never had an adverse reaction to any vaccine. I noticed the lady who gave me my shot gave it to me very high on my shoulder with the possibility it was in the joint rather than the normal location in my muscle. Keep this in mind for future reference if you notice them swabbing you with the alcohol prep too high on your arm. I won't let that happen again. I will ask to put it lower on my arm. I have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow. Regular OTC pain meds don't seem to help. It is better than it was but my range of motion is still not normal. I don't think the vaccine itself affected me at all. I think the mis-administration was the issue. I filed an online report that goes to the CDC and FDA. www.webmd.com/vaccines/what-is-sirva

Wow! I wasn't aware that the placement of the shot needed to be that precise. If the lady gave you that shot too high, she likely gave many people that shot too high. I hope you have a full recovery. An MRI would give a doctor better info and that would make the best treatment option easier to determine. An MRI is not without health risks though. The ultrasound has much less of a health risk.

I wasn't aware of it either, but I did find it odd that after all the different kinds of vaccines and injections I've had in my life, I would have that kind of reaction. I'm convinced it had nothing to do with the COVID vaccine and that it was all about the location. Hopefully it was just an inadvertent "miss" and no one else has had the same issue. I just hope my doc can prescribe something that helps. I would guess some kind of anti-inflammatory would be helpful.

Damn Kirk! I read your link and it describes perfectly what you were posting over a week ago. Hope you get a good report from your doctor.

The first thing he asked was how my golf game was. I told him a week before I got that shot it was pretty good. I described what happened and how quickly the pain started and he checked my range of motion and asked how much it had improved since it started. He asked how I had done with the previous shots. He agreed the "shot", not the vaccine itself, was probably the cause because I had no other adverse affects. He was more confident than the article about me recovering. He recommended trying the ibuprofen in a greater amount for about a week. He said if it wasn't considerably better after that to call him. He also suggested I call the Kroger store and ask to speak to the Pharmacist so they can discuss it with the person who gave me the shot. I think I will do that.
UPDATE: I just called and the Pharmacist said she was going to talk to her people about it.
