UK bans fifth neo-Nazi group under terror laws
By Daniel De Simone BBC News
'Members of "The Base" tried to groom teenagers in the UK and elsewhere as recruits'
'An American neo-Nazi group which is led from Russia is to be banned as a terrorist organisation, the Home Secretary has said.
Priti Patel condemned "evil white supremacist groups, who target vulnerable people across the world".
The Base will be the fifth extreme right-wing group to be proscribed in the UK under anti-terror laws.
Last year BBC Panorama exposed the organisation's recruitments efforts in the UK.
A BBC investigation also exposed the group's American founder Rinaldo Nazzaro and revealed how he was directing The Base from his St Petersburg home.
The Base, formed in 2018, seeks to create terrorist cells in the US and other countries in an attempt to establish fascist, white ethno-states through a "race war".
Members have engaged in training with weapons and explosives. Several men linked to the group are being prosecuted in the US for offences including conspiracy to murder.
The group has been heavily disrupted, although leading figures like Nazzaro remain active.
A formal ban in the UK, which will come into force this week if approved by MPs, will make membership or support for the group a terrorism offence with a maximum sentence of 14 years in prison. '

"Antisemitism on the American Right — and Its Ties to Russia" by Harold Brackman for the algemeiner
' We now know more about the founder of The Base: Rinaldo Navarro, aka Norman Spear (and also Roman Wolf). In his forties, he grew up in the Northeast. He married a Russian woman in 2012. After years of being associated with white separatist groups in Washington state, he popped up in St. Petersburg, pictured wearing a Vladimir Putin tee-shirt with the inscription: “Russia, Absolute Power.” Apparently, he was a guest of the Russian government, and may have ties to the Kremlin’s disinformation apparatus targeting the US. Tramp has made a habit of loosely throwing around words like "treasonous" and "traitor" when describing people he considered disloyal to him. I wonder what words he might use to describe this guy. He would probably call him a patriot.

Rinaldo and his Russian wife probably own many forum boards. His goal is a race war in Western nations. The US has been quietly investigating and taking some actions with groups like "The Base", but the British have a zero tolerance policy for Nazis in their midst. Putin and Trump embrace their support. David Duke generously supported Trump and David Duke's Knights of the KKK and his Neo-Nazi organization people, all were Trump supporters no matter what Trump did or said.
Putin embraces the White far right Americans too. Putin too, hopes for a race war in America.
When I pointed out the similarities between Heeeeey and Rinaldo, both he and his wife (who resembles Sydney) finally stopped trying to make trouble here.
