Bought a box of medication, it said it had the easy fold over edges. For crying out loud, I spent 5 minutes trying to peel it out of the package. Finally I cut it open with a pair of scissors. Glad it wasn't heart medication, heck you would be dead by the time you got it opened.

I could request regular containers, the ones that are not child proof since we've long past having children in the home, except as guests, but I always forget.. Thank goodness for husbands/ daughters/ granddaughters with strong hands. I've often had to ask a clerk to open a bottle of soda when I buy it at the store. I have special bottle/container openers at home for the occasion when I'm alone.

Some I've bought in stores, some I've bought on the net, some were gifts. If I can remember the site I will post it. I'll have to think about that, it's been. awhile. One of my favorites is an electric jar opener. You can find them in most dept stores..

Thanks. I think the stores are sealing these jars with super glue. I worked on a jar of pickles for about 10 minutes the other day. Finally had to swallow my pride and ask my husband to open it. He works out, rides a 900 lb. motorcycle, strong as an ox and he had a hard time with it. His face turned a lovely shade of red and purple. Got a good laugh out of that one. He fought the pickle jar and the pickle jar almost took him out. His pride was a little shook. lol Heading out to get one of those electric jar openers today.

Have you tried GENTLY tapping all around the perimeter of the lid with a heavy handled knife ? Or holding the jar under hot running water? That usually works. But the jar opener is so much more convenient, mine sits on the counter top 24/7
