It is good thing that we are taking our troops out of Syria. 2,000 troops approximately are being withdrawn, more slowly than the very quickly, originally stated. It is also a good thing that the President offended the leaders of Iraq by visiting the troops there with no warning or notification to the government of Iraq. They have demanded that we immediately withdraw all (approx. 5,000 troops) there. And it is a good thing that we are beginning the withdrawal of troops from Afghanistan. It has been our longest war. We are withdrawing 7,000 troops of the approximately 15,000 troops there. Although it is bizarre that a President who supports drilling in the Atlantic off the Eastern Seaboard, and drilling in the Arctic and the Alaska Wildlife Refuge, would act against domination of petroleum in the Middle East and Asia, the withdrawal of troops is good, it is the right thing to do.

What some are saying is once our troop are out of Syria it will create a vacuum that cause undesirables a-kin to ISIS to move in.

ISIS is disliked by Russia, Assad, and Turkey. Between the 3 of them ISIS cannot remain in Syria. Our main reason for being in Syria, appears to me to have been the removal of Assad. That appears to have been at the request of Israel. Now that Russia is taking a more intense interest in helping Assad, Israel will be more cautious, and the U.S. will be more cautious. There is petroleum in Syria, mostly in the Northeast corner, where not so coincidentally, the Kurds have located themselves. Our pulling out of Syria will force the Kurds to turn over the petroleum resources to Assad. That is the reason for the hand-wringing. Petroleum is the fascination of our "American Interests". Our multi-national banks, pharmaceuticals, chemical corporations, (all multinational too) and petroleum corporations, like British Petroleum, are big donors and the source of lots of perks for Congress and our political parties. Trump has done something good in taking the troops out.
