Nothing beats a good basketball game, although I must admit I've never seen ice hockey played and suspect it might be a close second choice.

I swam competitively. Of course there is no opportunity to bruise other competitors and endurance sufficient to win longer races is hard to acquire. It is not as interesting to watch unless a person has a background as a competitive swimmer and even then I don't go out of my way to watch it.

I was into most sports actively. Swim and diving teams, Baseball (second base), football, basketball, golf and even ping-pong. In my later years I prefer Golf, exercise machines, bike and if it was more of a sport, fly fishing.
As to watching these sports? I would prefer to play them.

Well, when younger I did play softball and volleyball, but I'm not too good at active participation.

I watched my dad and mom deteriorate physically until they both passed, dad at 68 and mom at 81. I have maintained good physical health thank my God for that with eating properly and exercise. My secular employment requires great mobility and some physical strength, 40 plus hours inside and outside in Northern Utah. I will retire in about 4 years and 8 months. As to basketball, our driveway of concrete is to steep to play on, our last two homes we had a half court with basket at the appropriate height. Our oldest played on a team and we all enjoyed playing on the court.
