Most people don't realize that Jesus' own family (mother, brothers) thought he was out of his mind. I have scripture.

His teachings were more Buddhist than Jewish. He had been gone for many years during which time he allegedly "traveled to the East and studied there". I have heard though, that after the death of Jesus, one of the brothers of Jesus attempted to form a Christian group with himself as the leader, but was rejected by the disciples. It is said that remnants of that group were wiped out by the early Roman church. If the mother of Jesus was divine then the brothers of Jesus were more likely to be extraordinary people, one would think.

I'm under the impression the "brethren" or whatever the "brothers" were called were more like cousins.
And, I'm wondering where it says Jesus traveled to the "the East."

My family consisted of me, my mother, my father, often an animal, often some plants. If my family came after me, it would be nothing more than my mother and/or father. There is such a thing as extended family. So, if my family brought along some of the extended family, it would likely still be called "family." Further, when my uncle moved in with us for a time, he was a member of the household and thereby family. Brothers and sisters does not mean family, although it quite often does.

It's hard for some Christians to believe that Jesus had actual brothers and sisters but he did. They confuse Mary being a virgin and she was until after Jesus' birth. Then she had sons and daughters, how many it (Bible) does not specify.

Why would she not be a virgin after Jesus' birth? Because she had other children, I can provide scripture if you wish.

She was married to Joseph. Joseph would have consummated the marriage, that is unless Joseph was actually a bearded Josphine. Mary had not been married long enough to Joseph to account for the birth of Jesus, so the virgin birth prior to that. Women get pregnant even today and still have an intact hymen.

While I have no knowledge of what's considered a valid marriage per ancient Jewish law, if it is a contract to establish a legal relationship equivalent to a blood relationship, it doesn't have to be consummated to be a valid marriage. (Neither does "gay marriage.") Furthermore, we don't know what all the angel told Joseph.

If you really really need to believe that Mary never had intercourse with Joseph, I won't stand in your way. It would be nearly inconceivable though. That belief would take a mountain of faith.

When Jesus was born it was a virgin birth. Mary did have other children. The Bible does say that He(Jesus) had brothers and sisters, they were not virgin births, they made it into the world the same way every one else has.

Mary wasn't a virgin when Jesus was born. It was a story made up to make Jesus into something that wasn't a man. The reality is that Jesus was no different then you or I. More aware of life than most, but just a man.

Not necessarily. 1. There are other instances where a relationship is strictly a matter of law, adoption being an often used one. 2. Close to 50% of the adult population is classed as some form of "single" (i.e., widowed, divorced or never married). Granted many may have a "partner," but a goodly percentage are not busily into some form of weird sex. (There's more to life than sexual activity.) Even among the married, some couples are separated for long periods of time. 3. The matter of Jesus, Mary and Joseph is swimmingly with the miraculous and God directed.
