I would say this: "Trump Mania" showed cracks in the armor, a good thing. After all, he leans left. I'm surprised it's taken the right so long to figure it out.
Trump is like your drunk Uncle at Thanksgiving. When you're a kid, he's the coolest because he gives your parents a hard time and gets away with it. But as you grow, you realize he's an A-Hole to everyone for no apparent reason at all, and his "Excuse ME!!!" interruption shtick grows old quick.
I knew he'd have trouble with policy questions.
Carly has fire, but? Seems pretty hot tempered, may share Donald's thin skin. That said, she's an intriguing counterpoint to Hillary.
Christie is likable, but probably too "NY Yankee" for the GOP base.
Kasich seems reasonable and committed. I need to see more, though.
Ben Carson is a decent man clearly, but? Politics??? Running for the highest office in the land? Would you hire a pediatrician to fix your chimney, even though 'chimney cleaning' is a well known scam for many companies? No, you'd research the chimney companies a little better. That said, he could grow into it, I'll leave my jury out on him. Strikes me as very honest.
Huck is going no where, he's too 'old time religiony'. Born 100 years too late. Might have had a shot against McKinley.
Walker. Could be a policy guy. As a left leaning dude, I don't care for his ideas much. But? The right does, and that's who counts here.
Ditto Santorum. Kind of makes me wonder why Ryan hasn't run.
Anyways, Jeb is slowly coming on, and is trying like hell to stay 'Presidential Looking', despite 'drunk Uncle's' relentless attacks. Not a fan of his brother at all, but Jeb may have something.
Rubio is clearly the model for the future of the party.
That said, if I was running the GOP today and had to commit to a ticket, it'd be Bush/Rubio.
Obviously, much can change.
If Carly can shut down her facial reactions to attacks, she'd come off much better.
No misogyny here folks. It's what bothers me about Trump, too. Could you see him on the world stage getting all snippy with other world leaders?
Oh, almost forgot Rand Paul.
The GOP just doesn't like libertarians, not nationally.
