I'm not sure where to put this, so it's going here. The administrator can move it somewhere that might be more appropriate. This includes the note I posted with it on my facebook newsfeed/timeline: One to keep.... Given some current events, I decided I need a map of "empires" of more ancient times and found this below. It's got capsule (one sentence) descriptions for 5,000 years of human history. Ancient History Maps (It come up on a world map at the time of the Roman Empire.)

It doesn't address the problem of Puma Punku, in Bolivia. Huge heavy granite and diorite structures were found there that were precisely cut for unknown purposes. the nearest quarry is ten miles away. One of the stones weighs more than 800 tons. They may be 14,000 to 16,000 years old. The Sumerian civilization was 4,000 to 6,000 years ago.

I knew it existed, and I know Persia = Iran, but I couldn't place it either time-wise or geographically.

I think your reference material considers Persia to be Mesopotamia although they are distinctly different cultures. There are older records for Mesopotamia (Sumerian) culture than for Persian. It may be that the Persian culture is older and they merely engaged in the all too human activity of destroying all evidence of pre-existing cultures.
Someone tried to destroy the Puma Punku relics, but partly failed.

For Persia it says outright Iran and Mesopotamia (Iraq) and to me it looks like it also includes some of modern day Pakistan. As for the Americas, i read somewhere that there is evidence (I think in Yellowstone) that there were people 10,000 years ago, but the maps don't go back that far.

Those maps would be a big help to anyone studying the Bible.
