My desktop has apparently bit the dust. It's a mini HP, I've had it for years.
It won't turn off and the monitor can't recieve a signal from it....something on the motherboard I guess.

Desktop computers seem to be a thing of the past. Lots and lots of laptops but few desktops.

Desktop computers seem to be a thing of the past. Lots and lots of laptops but few desktops. Sales for desktops has fallen that is for sure, and most of those are for hard core gamers and businesses, but the average household now has a laptop. The biggest sellers are tablets though, small, longer battery life, and now can run just about all of the main stream software. I actually got me a windows tablet yesterday, it has Win 8.1 with the upgrade to Windows 10. I like that it is small and I can use it when waiting on the doctors.

I'm getting ready to go get a blood test now. Kinda funny to my warped brain but right in back of this Medical Center where I go is a Cemetery. I have already purchased my plot, vault and head stone. If they screw things up too bad they can side me out the back door.

You'd have to have a really SCREWED UP Phlebotomist for that to happen ! Very true but anything is possible. It was a joke. The place is Louisville Memorial Gardens. I'm sorry I bought that grave plot now. I got the plot, vault and head stone for 5,500. I've had it for a few years now.
Last year I visited a friend's grave at Resthaven Memorial Park and it's the most beautiful cemetery I've every seen. That's where I would like to be buried. I guess I could try and sell the one I already have.

Well, I don't have to worry about all that. My husband and I both want to be cremated. The funeral business is such a rip off and is getting more expensive every year.. and it's not only the expense, it's all the drama, all the drain on the family going through a viewing ( if that's what they want ) a funeral and all that. I can walk into a funeral home and that sickly sweet smell of flowers makes me nauseous. I don't wan't to put my family through all that. And I don't want my ashes sitting on a mantle. Take the ashes out to my favorite beach at sunset, sprinkle them and that's that with that. Our daughter and granddaughter are good with our decision and that's all that matters.

Several years ago someone in my extended family died in S.C.. She was young and very beautiful. They cremated her and took her ashes out on a boat in a river there and spread her ashes. I thought that was a nice thing to do.
