I am usually not superstitious but I ordered a book from amazon titled New age Bible versions by G.A. Riplinger. I had it for a while and decided to read it. I read a couple chapers and went to bed. Before morning I was in the E.R. and I was in the hospital several days. A few months later I picked it up and started reading where I had left off. The next morning I was back in the hospital again. When I got out of the hospital I threw the book in the trash. It sounds crazy I know but I had enjoyed all of that book I could stand.

You don't really think reading the book had anything to do with your trips to the hospital do you ? What exactly was the content ? In what manner do you think it had any effect on you and why ?
I remember back when the Exorcist the movie , the original, first came out. The studios promoted it as a psychological head game. Of course, the more the movie was hyped up, the more people wanted to see it.
I even heard one minister say on TV, that if you saw the movie, Satan would make his way into your heart and you would be doomed. Hummm
Well, I saw it of course, and as far as I know Satan didn't possess me. I actually thought the movie was so far out that parts were comical, especially when Linda Blair's head started spinning around and she began projectile vomiting green pea soup.
I found this on youtube. The author is talking about different versions of the Bible, what's changed in the language of each version, what's added to and what's been left out.

I think people are superstitious when they know that things are out of their control. The famous example from sports being baseballs players; when pitching or batting, the batter has no control over how well the pitcher is pitching, and the pitcher can throw a wonderful game, give up only one run, and lose; in either case, their fate being out of their control. On the other hand, the same pitcher can give up five runs, and win, if his team scores eight.

Reading the book probably had nothing to do with being hospitalized but I'm not brave enough to try it for the third time so it's gone.
I read where at the moment the KJV is the best selling version. 53% of all Bibles sold are the KJV. My trouble with the other versions is I have read the KJV so much when I read another version it doesn't feel like I'm reading the Bible.

Speaking of baseball, the funniest superstition is the 'Goat curse' cast on the Chicago Cubs , I don't think the goat had anything to do with it, but maybe it's just the idea, because they blow it every year
From Wiki The Curse of the Billy Goat is a sports-related curse that was supposedly placed on the Chicago Cubs in 1945 when Billy Goat Tavern owner Billy Sianis was asked to leave a World Series game against the Detroit Tigers at the Cubs' home ballpark of Wrigley Field because his pet goat's odor was bothering other fans.[1] He was outraged and declared, "Them Cubs, they ain't gonna win no more," which has been interpreted to mean that there would never be another World Series game won at Wrigley Field. The Cubs have not won a National League pennant since this incident and have not won a World Series since 1908. :
