Is there life in the universe or are we the only ones?
In the milky way there are approx. 100 billion stars, and if 1% of those stars have planets there would be 1 billion stars with planets, but if 1% had planets that could sustain life there would be 10 million planets, although if only 1% had progressed then there would be 100 thousand with intelligent life, but if only 1% actually progressed to the same level as we are then there would be 1,000 planets in our galaxy with life that is not only intelligent but also has the tools to go into space.
But if we take the whole universe where there are 100s of trillions of stars then the number of planets with life similar to ours would jump into the millions. It is possible that many of those planets would be more advanced than we are and many less advanced. Of course there are planets that are different than ours and they could develop a totally different type of intelligent life.
What would happen if we ever met one of those space explorers, would we welcome them here or fear them? What would it do to our beliefs?

Some people believe God was a visitor from the cosmos, I don't say I believe that but I do think it's possible. The Bible teaches the rapture and people believe when this happens most will believe it's an invasion from outer space. far fetched? I don't think so.

I don't think we are the only life in the universe. It depends on the space explorers, do they come with a peaceful agenda or with destruction in mind. How would we communicate with them? I don't know what it would do to my beliefs, again it would depend on them, who they are, what they are, and what they want. Or would we be able to communicate at all? And what is going to be their reaction to finding us, other life, in the universe. Will it be as much a surprise to them as it is to us? Or did they come already knowing that we exist? Too many variables to give a concrete answer.

Too many variables to give a concrete answer. Good question. But if someone where to get here before we get out there, then they would have either seen one of our deep space probes, Voyager, and would have studied and learned our language(s). It would be hard to think that anyone traveling hundreds of light years, covering maybe several generations living on a space ship would be coming here to start a war. With limited resources to actually try to dominated a large society/planet, because the bulk or almost all resources would be to travel large distances.

Truthfully I would probably just shot at it and ask questions later. Not sure I could handle that much weird, I really hope I never encounter one. How about you?

How about you? oh, I'd love to meet someone not from here. I'd have so many questions to ask and I'm sure they also would ask about us. I'd want to know their beliefs, their culture, their habits, and how the heck they got here. I've always been a curious person, reading, searching, and learning. I'd give anything to go out into space, but I'm too old now.

You are much more adventurous than I am that is for sure. A trait I admire but do not have.

From events in the Bible angels like the ones that destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah appeared to be normal men. Jacob wrestled with the angel, apparently he looked like a man, Jacob wasn't afraid of him. My own belief is there are some things common no matter where you are in the cosmos.

This might be off the topic a little but does anyone listen to Coast to Coast Am. I was stuck on night work for 3 years and one of us had that on every night, it's entertaining. It's all about UFO's, space travel and lots of other things. I'm on day shift now so I haven't listened to it in a while.

Since I know that there is a God and that He is infinite and omnipresent. There would have to be other inhabited places within His universe knowing the one God. For myself? Real simple.

He gives me a copy of the program and I guess I must have 100 or so programs so far. I bet they are also in YouTube.

I tend to think along that line too. It would be egotistical and narrow minded of us to think we are 'IT' finito, to the exclusion of all possible others.
