A little something that came to my mind this morning while dealing with a cold bad enough to interrupt decent thought, a big painful raw place on one leg, a sore bottom, and a back pain that makes it difficult to more an arm....
In a way it isn't going to make any difference after death if there is a heaven or not. We have to die to get there, and if there is life after death, it won't be anything like what we experience in the here and now.
I wonder how many suicides are actually a gamble on the hereafter.

I wonder how many suicides are actually a gamble on the hereafter. To some Demominations suicide is kind of written in stone but I think God deals with us individually as a parent deals with their children. I don't know about suicide being a gamble, I think it's desperation at it's worse.

I don't know if suicides gamble on the hereafter. Seems to me that most people who commit suicide have lost all hope. They have given up on the future and on themselves. We don't know what life will be like after death. No one knows. Only those who have already crossed over that threshold.

You know it sounds like you are under the weather, I hope you get to feeling better soon. Try some emu oil on that raw spot, it is good stuff.

I don't know about suicide being a gamble, I think it's desperation at it's worse. Desperation with the idea that one has run out of personal options and/or direction in their lives I would think. I also agree that God looks at the individual heart and its intentions. There are a number of interesting reads out there of NDEs and OBEs that indicate some remorse and forgiveness of suicide, too many to mention or recall where I have read that. CP, I hope you are getting better physically. I will keep you in my prayers.

C.P. Something that is very good for colds is Chamomile tea, it's a herbal tea. It won't cure a cold but if you drink a cup every day you probably won't catch a cold. It's Not a cure-all but it seems to work, I've been drinking it for years.

Thank you for the prayers and the tips.
I probably would do better if it wasn't so difficult to get decent help. I just recently changed doctors. I was using a home doctoring service that sent nurse practitioners that kept quitting. then they'd send a sub out of Cincinnati who did little beside run in and take my blood pressure (which is fairly normal). Same way with nursing services. I went through four agencies before I got a really good nurse.
A friend talked me into vitamin E capsules years ago, so I do take those.

I know what you mean, I have changed doctors several times. My doctor moved out of state, since I have had a devil of the time finding a good one. Hope this nurse works out for you.
