One of the atheist favorite sayings, kool aide. Usually before they start ripping you for your Christian or Conservative opinions. Interesting. Very interesting.

One of the atheist favorite sayings, kool aide. Usually before they start ripping you for your Christian or Conservative opinions. Interesting. Very interesting. You are ill informed of the origin of the term. Does the name 'Jim Jones' ring a bell ? What's really interesting is that a Christian would call Andrew Jackson's complacency about the slaughtering of indigenous Americans and the Trail of Tears 'baloney' and even worse, go on to say they 'like' him. No one is ripping anyone for their Christian or Conservative opinions. In case you've forgotten I'm both Christian and Conservative. The fact that I've given you my reasons for believing Mc Cain is a loose cannon is common knowledge. A quick temper and foul mouth are not conducive to good policy making and good foreign relations

I think the kool aide was spiked, with what I can't remember but it killed them. Jim Jones claimed to be an indian which he wasn't but he claimed a lot of things.

I think the kool aide was spiked, with what I can't remember but it killed them. Jim Jones claimed to be an indian which he wasn't but he claimed a lot of things. It was laced with cyanide, killing everyone in the compound, 912 people, except a few who hid in the jungle. It was one of the largest mass killings in recent history. The man was seriously demented. Ironically, Jones opted out of the Kool Aid and chose gunshot as his final farewell. No Kool Aid for him. Congressman Leo Ryan, who was sent to investigate Jonestown, was ambushed and killed on the landing strip as the plane was ready to take off back to the states. This is a rather long video, but at 34:00 you can hear the orders to start drinking the cyanide laced Kool aid..

No one should ever put that much trust in any man or woman, it's crazy.

No one should ever put that much trust in any man or woman, it's crazy. It's beyond crazy, but people do it every day. Look at the followers of David Koresh and the people of Heaven's Gate who committed suicide waiting for the space craft to take them to heaven. These people are looking for something, and that 'something' is wide and varied. They are also usually lacking in self confidence and are quick to put all their trust and worldly goods in the hands of cons like Jim Jones. I think it's a Psychological deficiency and there are opportunists waiting around every corner. It's sad to prey on fellow human beings like that, especially in the name of God.

1 Corinthians 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
Kool Aide comes in many flavors to tempt one.
If any man will do his will, he shall know of the doctrine, whether it be of God, or whether I speak of myself. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.

One person's kool aid is another person's enlightenment. Both views may be wrong.
Should we be more tolerant, or less, or does it depend on what is being said and/or promoted?
Clearly some things cannot be tolerated, i.e. Jim Jones and his ilk,but that does not mean toleration is always a bad idea.
