The Ukrainian forces are having some success against the inexperienced Russian forces. Ukrainians have been fighting for years against Russian backed separatists.

Putin was hoping for a surrender, that isn't happening.

Once this war has defeated Putin's forces, the Ukraine shall be offered membership in NATO.

Ukraine has a lot of farm land. They produced a lot of food before the Russian built Chernobyl blew up. Some of the farms are capable of helping to feed Europe instead of Russia. Russia didn't want the radioactive food but outside of the unsafe zone around Chernobyl, the farms are relatively safe for growing food.
Former Soviet emigres I worked with at the aerospace facility told me that the Ukraine is Russia's bread basket.
Having that food available for NATO countries won't be a bad thing.

I am just learning about Ukraine, I never knew anything about it. I just read where Putin has been in isolation. He could be seriously ill some think.
