What kind of clubs do you use?
I actually have three full sets of clubs. All three have Ping irons and Taylormade drivers.
My primary set that I use most of the time consists of Ping Zing 2 (black dot) irons 2 through lob wedge, a Ping Darby Sigma G Mallet Putter, a Taylormade M3 driver and a Taylormade RBZ 3 wood. My irons are probably over 25 years old, but I haven't found anything I like better when it come to the feel of them. The shafts have been lengthened by 1 1/4 inch.
My second set has the same irons except they are blue dots. With them I have a Taylormade R9 driver, Taylormade 3 Hybrid and a old Ping Karsten J Blade putter. I got these to leave at the lake house. We used to have a golf course nearby, but it closed, so this set is relegated to garage duty. I get them out sometimes just to change my luck.
The third set I bought for my son, hoping he would get interested. So far they are garage hangers too. They consist of a set of 3-SW Ping G5 irons, Taylormade RBZ driver, Taylormade 3 Hybrid and Ping Anser 4 putter. I tried this set of irons once because they are a lot newer than my Zing 2s, but they just don't give me the same feel and distance.

I am playing on my third set of Cobras, the two exceptions are my Odyssey putter and a 52 degree Acuity wedge. Right now I’m carrying driver, 3 wood, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 hybrids and gap wedge through 7 iron. Sometimes I will change out the 5 and 6 hybrids with my 5 and 6 irons. I sometimes struggle with the 5 and 6 irons so I change out from time to time.

LOL. Like most golfers, especially when they get older, you try new technology to get a few extra yards. I bought my first set of Cobras in 1995 new. My second set of irons were used, a super deal at $150 in 2005. My third set was purchased in 2015 new but were a three year old model. I have never bought the latest and greatest versions.

I've definitely tried to up upgrade when it comes to my driver. The Taylormade RBZ in my "son's" bag was my first purchase of a new driver in many years when I bought it. There was a big difference over what I had been using. It had a fixed shaft that wasn't adjustable. I liked it but looked for an adjustable model and found one on eBay used. When I got it I noticed the face was cracked so I contacted the seller who gave me a refund and told me to throw it in the trash. Instead, I researched what other Taylormade heads would fit the shaft and ended up bidding on an R9 head and getting it for $15. I used it for awhile. Then a few years ago a friend of mine who's an assistant manager at Dick's Sporting Goods called and said they were marking down some drivers and she gave me a coupon code for another 20% off, so I bought the M3. Funny thing is, I hit all three of my drivers about the same. The M3 has multiple adjustments, although I'm not sure how much difference they really make. I think the technology has reached a point where there isn't much more they can do. I think the science with the golf ball itself is where we can improve, but I'm not willing to pay the price they charge for some of them. I actually buy all my golf balls used on eBay and my favorite is the Pinnacle Gold in high-visibility yellow. Unfortunately they've quit making them and gone to the "Rush" model, so they are getting harder to find. I also like the Titleist DT Solo when I can find them used. Pinnacle and Titleist are both made by Acushnet and I suspect the Golds and DT Solos are very similar, if not the same. As for my irons, I don't think I'll ever change from my Ping Zing 2 irons. They were introduced nearly 30 years ago, but I just like the feel of them. They are a cavity back club with a nice heavy feel, which is what I like about them. I like being able to just lift the club up and let it fall instead of swinging it. Now, if I could only remember to do that, things would be great, but I am re-learning that a little more with every round. My brother has a two year old set of very nice Taylormade irons and I wouldn't trade him for my antique Zing 2s.

Another normal round for me today. Shoot a great 37 on the front and forget how to play golf on the back for a 45. Yes I know 82 is a good score. Just wish I could put two nines together.

Same here today. 39 and 49. But the ankle felt good. I taped it up to make sure I didn't tweek it again and I felt no discomfort.
