People who play competitive sports get sprained ankles. It comes with the territory. That's why many athletes tape their ankles before playing sports. I was very active through my teens and twenties and had multiple sprained ankles and jammed thumbs. As for healing, I am recovering as well as I did when I was younger. It's all about treating the injury. I will be playing golf again Tuesday morning, weather permitting. You obviously lived a very sedentary life-style. It could explain some of the ailments you claim to have. I stepped in a hole that wasn't visible because of tall grass. That has nothing to do with my age. I've had one nagging injury that has lasted for years. Achilles tendonitis, I hurt it running down the stairs at work. There's not much you can do for it. "don't use it" How do you not use your leg. It's better to the point I walk 2 miles every day. So it's looking up. I wonder why my board doesn't have a spell check?

My sports was competition swimming. I swam in a swim team that competed in AAU events and then I swam in a college team. My dad and my best friend were golfers. I couldn't hit the ball. The way of holding the clubs was awkward for me too. I recommend swimming for sports for someone with achilles tendonitis.

I would imagine swimming is one of the best exercises you can do, especially considering how it doesn't exert pressure on your joints. They sometimes use huge water tanks to rehab horses recovering from injuries. It allows for movement but takes off the pressure of their massive weight.

A good day of golf today. I'm still wrapping the ankle just for peace of mind and I didn't injure myself further. I played more consistent with a 44/42 for 86. Won a skin for an eagle on a par 5 and won the pot for lowest score compared to average. We were at Shelbyville Country Club. We're playing My Old Kentucky Home next week. The course, not the song.
