They are now saying you need a third shot because of the mutation of the virus. I'm not sure who "They" is, but all I've heard is the various producers of the vaccines are studying it to see if another booster of their vaccine might be needed. When I got my second injection I was told they would notify me if a third shot was needed. Last I heard, the Moderna Vaccine I received was slightly less effective against the variants, but was still in the 89-90% range. If the Health Department calls and says I need another dose, I'll roll up my sleeve. Until then, I feel good just having the first two.

Practically every media source, including CBS, has been reporting on the possibility of needing a third shot, but I haven't heard anything definitive. It's all been speculative so far. I guess we'll find out eventually.

You are right, there are multiple sources reporting the same thing. Research it and let me know. The cold hard facts are the virus keeps changing. It's possible it could mutate into a virus that is relatively harmless. Yes, we will find out eventually. I saw something about it this morning on my face page is why I brought it up.

As I said, when I left the Health Department site where I got my shots, the last thing they told me was if a third shot was necessary they would contact me. There are so many people saying so many things, I'll just wait to hear from them. I wouldn't be allowed to get a third shot at this point regardless of what the media is reporting, unless I lied to them. They ask if you've had any vaccinations, and what they are, during the screening.

I am now on the waiting list at Norton Healthcare and Meijor Pharmacy. I check Walgreens and Baptist Health multiple times a day. Eventually I will get the shots, just don’t know when.

I can't believe how it worked out for my wife. I was watching the evening news Friday and heard they were starting to give shots to 60 and overs. I got online and signed her up at Norton's. At about 3:30 Saturday afternoon they texted or emailed her a link to choose a date and time. They had one available the next day, Sunday 2/28. I drove her up there Sunday afternoon to the location at the Bacon's Shopping Center and she was in and out in 30 minutes. It was less than 48 hours since I signed her up. She's scheduled for Shot #2 on 3/21. A couple we know who live in Shelbyville was able to get theirs at the Walgreens in Valley Station the same way. I hope you get a message soon.

I got moved out of Norton’s wait list into the Louisville Health at Broadbent. Waiting for an email from them. One would think that this could be better organized.

Hadn't heard of anything like that, but they do have a good system out there. You won't even get out of the car. If you come in Gate 4 at Crittenden Drive and Central Avenue you will be right where the line forms.

This what I received.
“Thank you for joining the Norton Healthcare COVID-19 Vaccine Wait List.
We continue to strive to rapidly deliver vaccines to all eligible individuals, but currently there is an extended wait to receive a vaccine at a Norton Healthcare location.
We know receiving a vaccine as soon as possible is important to you. To get you scheduled sooner, we have provided your name and email to the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health & Wellness (LMDPHW).
LMDPHW will be sending you a personalized link from LouHealthCovidVaccines@Louisvilleky.gov to register for your vaccine appointment with LouVax in Broadbent Arena at the Kentucky Fair & Exposition Center.
This link is intended for use only by you and cannot be used by other individuals in your household. If you have already scheduled an appointment with another provider, please do not also register with LouVax so we can ensure every eligible person has an opportunity to receive the vaccine in timely manner.
This means your name will be removed from the Norton Healthcare wait list. If this change causes you any hardship, please send a message to ScheduleCOVIDvaccine@nortonhealthcare.org.
Thank you for getting your vaccine and helping to end COVID-19 … one shot at a time!
Norton Healthcare”

Hopefully you'll hear something soon. They run a lot of people through there every day. When you get there you will probably see a lot of cars and think you're going to be there all day, but they- have a really smooth operation to get you in an out. If you go there make sure you print out your confirmation email. It has a like a bar-code they scan. Take a pen for filling out forms so you don't have to use theirs. You'll need your drivers license and insurance cards. Wear a short sleeve shirt and a jacket you can take off easily while sitting in a car, assuming you need to wear one at all.
