My hearing has continued to get worse. I no longer watch movies, I miss too much . I have two Beltone hearing aids, they help but I still have trouble.
When I first got these hearing aids I went out to walk my dog one morning. It was early, a little before sun rise. I heard something I had not heard in some time....birds singing.

I don't have a lot of hearing loss yet. I have tinnitus and when it is quiet, it can be quite noticeable. I got into too many fist fights, and so I have floaters in my eyes, that make it hard to read the piano accompaniment for the classical flute and piano duets and trios that I am asked to learn.

I see, well I hope your hearing don't get any worse. Fist fists that surprises me, I thought you were an easy going man.

My father said that some words are fighting words. Usually I fought kids who were about my size, so we seldom got very badly hurt. Kids back then, had a saying: "pick on someone your own size." A sense of fair play was part of what kids learned from other kids. I didn't become a pacifist until the Army experience. I served in a Pershing 1A Nuclear Missile Battalion, and one of my jobs was working in the arms room. So I read Army documents about the effect of the bombs on the civilians in Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Nuclear war is the worst. It should make pacifists of us all.

It's not something I want to see, especially in this country.

We are currently affected by fall out from atomic bomb testing and the ones used on Japan. Before World War II, nobody on Earth had any plutonium in their body. Now everybody does. It doesn't stay in one place. This is why even rogue countries like Pakistan, India, and North Korea, have done their atomic bomb tests underground. Nuclear bombs going off anywhere in the world, make it more difficult for complex life forms to survive all over the planet.

Nothing stays the same. I wish it were better.

The globe's population explosion will need to be controlled. China tried to control theirs, with what we alleged were draconian measures, we said it was a violation of human rights. Their measures were not draconian enough. Their population continued to grow and continues to.
