And He called the multitude, and said to them. Hear and under stand: not that which goes into the mouth defiles a man, but that which comes out of the mouth, this defiles a man.
Many are called but few are chosen. Why? It is because they do not hear and understand what defiles. God's love is always calling us to a higher purpose, to hear and understand. Hearing corresponds to an individuals love or their will, intent or desires. Understanding relates to the mind or intellectual aspects of individuals. Literal substances or food is not the object here but thoughts and ideas concerning the Creator and His creation or thoughts of self and those that be of worldly concerns. We are constantly bombarded by all forms of intellectual information about how to treat one another, especially in this day of almost instant communications from around the planet. Received inside it is digested. Not that which goes into the mouth defiles. How we react and act "comes" through our will, intentions or desires to that information, governs us. That which "comes" out of the mouth, this defiles.

I knew of a doctor that I went to high school with, we were in the same graduating class. He graduated valedictorian at the top of our class. After many years he had married my sister-in-law while in med school and later divorced her after she put him through the school financially. Interestingly he told me onetime that he only believed his five senses and what they could provide information wise. When he said that to me I hit him in the upper arm hard enough to create a bruise. He asked me why did I do that? My response? I do not feel your pain, therefore there is no pain. I do not see your pain, therefore there is no pain. And on through the five senses. Years later he discovered that he had made the regrettable mistake of divorcing my sister-in-law. I suspect that also to understand "the call" and thereby come to an acceptance of the same, one must utilize a different method other than just the five senses.

An egotistical notion that one is called to some kind of greatness? Since I started this thread from a biblical perspective and construct, allow me to continue briefly. 1 John 2:27-29 Now as for you, the anointing that you received from him resides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things, it is true and is not a lie. Just as it has taught you, you reside in him. And now, little children, remain in him, so that when he appears we may have confidence and not shrink away from him in shame when he comes back. If you know that he is righteous, you also know that everyone who practices righteousness has been fathered by him. John 15:4,5 and 7 Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. I most of the way through my fifth decade of an ongoing transformation of who I am. The scriptures above indicate a "method" towards finding one's "call". It is not found in ritualistic servitude in some building, I did that for 15 years at the beginning. I had to develop a connection to "hear" God's higher purpose and require it of my will, intent and desires. Then I began to understand (gnosis) the reciprocal relationship God desires us to have with Him and with others. My first 15 years were my ego, big church and I would be the Pastor and teacher, "NOT!" It has not come to any fruition in that direction. Instead our ministry "calling" has been to individuals with the guidance of the Spirit of God Who has sent and continues to do so, individuals to us for us to minister to. Either in the Bible or more importantly to receive of us what we have to give of our spirit. No ego, no self.

The reasons vary with the denominations. We basically redirect them back to a personal relationship with God through prayer and Biblical counseling.

The Christophers 1 Cor 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment. The failure of the main stream orthodoxies of whom do not follow the above scripture. Whereas we all seek the Spirit and what it says and wants as individuals. Interesting that as we do so we are all getting the same truths. Of this "bunch" we are scattered through out the planet and serve others as we are directed by the Spirit. Some are close by us and others elsewhere.

The quote from Apostle Paul to the Corinthians that I used indicates that the Church (the ekklēsia or the called out), should have no divisions. joined to gather in the same mind. All of the main steam orthodoxies claim to trace the beginnings of their "church" go back to the original Apostles. Yet, they have divisions within and without indicating that they do not have the same mind. "The Maryknoll priest believed that God has given each individual a special task in life which belongs to no one else." Agreed. "Each of us has, by the grace of God, the power to change the world for the better. Every act of care and concern for others has a ripple effect, touching many lives. The love to which we are called by the Gospel extends not only to our neighbors, but to all who live on God’s Good Earth—today and in time to come. So, go into the marketplace, into a job of your own choosing, without fanfare or flag-waving. Where there is hate, bring in love; where there is darkness, carry light. In other words, be a Christbearer, or Christopher. The mere fact that you are alive, reading these words, no matter your age, the state of your health or physical condition, means that you have been chosen by God to perform some work that no other person can do. If you wish to leave the world better than you found it, you must be convinced that you have been put here for a purpose, delegated by God to play a part in renewing the face of the earth. Each of us is an instrument of supernatural grace. We do not have to depend on our own limited ability, but have the whole of heaven behind us, even when we seem to fail. To each of us, individually and personally, Christ is continually saying: ‘As the Father has sent Me, so I send you.’ (John 20:21) You can do much as a Christopher to make your influence for good felt. You can stimulate one and all to show a personal responsibility and individual initiative in raising the standards of all phases of human endeavor, especially government, education, labor management relations, communications and entertainment. These fields vitally shape the destiny of humankind for good or evil, for time and eternity. The very presence of even one Christopher in any environment is a blessing, a channel of grace, a step in the right direction – like a tiny pinpoint of light that is greater than the encircling darkness." And again, agreed.Mat 23:8-12 the word of Jesus whose mind we must have. But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.
Neither be ye called masters: for one is your Master, even Christ.
But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant.
And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he that shall humble himself shall be exalted.

For the most part I have come to the conclusion of religious tolerance myself. My reply on May 28, 2017 at 8:44am, I had indicated, in blue type, my agreement with the Christopher's basic tenets and attempt myself to follow said same. It has been my experience with a number of church groups that I have attended and eventually left, (do to the large degree of no religious tolerance of other groups not of their belief system, nor mine). Unfortunately, I struggled with that lack of tolerance within until the last decade wherein I have had a change of heart with some exceptions of course. God's love is always calling us to a higher purpose, to hear and understand what does defile us. The actions of individuals and groups, convert or die whether literally or spiritually, is an abomination that makes desolate. It is not God calling to a higher purpose, but man defiling God's purpose for us. Read more: ourpaths.boards.net/post/new/1857#ixzz4iwoFtYWi
