I had to search it. He was raised a Presbyterian. Years ago there was a bumper sticker on cars that said "I found it". It was a product of the Baptist-Presbyterian-Pentacostal coalition. Evangelicals is another term for that group of Christians. A brief search sums up the differences as being the belief that good works will not produce salvation, that only having correct beliefs produces salvation. Catholics and other Protestants agree with the importance of correct beliefs but also say "faith without works is dead".

Trump's Religion is money. I know what you mean, faith along with works equals salvation.
I've heard all kinds of things since the election, one being that he's a Russian Agent.

I think the Presbyterians believe in something like destiny.

I think the Presbyterians believe in something like destiny. It's the doctrine of election, which states we are all predestined.

My understand is: no free will. You are right. Actually, there is an element of truth in that. If someone is born in say a remote desert where there is no human interaction beyond the immediate tribe, that person most likely would never know anything else. (By the way, that was supposed to say "My understand ing is:"....)

By being in association with good people, even a person with evil tendencies will make good choices and gradually become virtuous.
"Although the mugwort growing in a hemp field or wood marked for cutting with an inked line may not be straight to begin with, they will as a matter of course become so. In the same way, one who chants the daimoku as the Lotus Sutra teaches will never have a twisted mind. For one should know that, unless the mind of the Buddha enters into our bodies, we cannot in fact chant the daimoku."
The sage replied: "You have been imbued with the fragrance of your orchid-room friend; you have become upright like mugwort growing in a field of hemp."
