Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen Yesterday at 7:50am ·
“Humanity cannot lift itself by its own bootstraps; there is no such thing as spontaneous generation; life does not come from crystals; poetry does not come from donkeys; international peace does not come from wars; social justice does not come from selfishness. With all our knowledge of chemistry we cannot make a human life in our laboratories because we lack the unifying, vivifying principal of a soul which comes only from God. Life is not a push from below; it is a gift from above. It is not the result of the necessary ascent of man but the loving descent of God.” Archbishop Fulton Sheen (The Prodigal World)

Lowell's answer to the above:
Lowell Angell The true "God" is a common mortal, Thus the importance of loving every common mortal as Jesus commanded. The true "God" will not command you to make war on other common mortals. Life appears wherever the conditions are right. There are many other worlds with sentient life in our Galaxy. There are many other Galaxies in our Supercluster of galaxies. There are many other Superclusters of galaxies in our observable "universe". Mr. Sheen has opinions. His opinions may coincide with church doctrine. Some of his opinions appear to be false when examined in the light of scientific discovery of reality. Church doctrine has been shown to be false by scientific discovery of reality before. The Lotus Sutra says that a woman who embraces the Lotus Sutra surpasses all men. This means that the true superior being in reality, is a woman. So it is that the Chinese character "Myo" is composed of a pictogram of a woman and a pictogram that means "rare". "Myo" which is the character for enlightenment and means wonderful and mystical, also means "rare woman". Nichiren says: " Only in the Lotus Sutra do we read that a woman who embraces this sutra not only excels all other women, but also surpasses all men."

I have no wish to argue with Lowell, he has his opinion about God, father, etc.
As to Sheen's comments? There are many things man can do in this natural realm. Fertilization by manually combining an egg and sperm in a laboratory dish, and then transferring the embryo to the uterus. Landing on the moon or sending some craft to the furthest reaches of our solar system. When one looks at the history of man throughout the centuries of pre-recorded, recorded time, we have seen good and poor choices. The base nature of mankind rears its ugly head far too many times and we have to look a little harder around to find good. (Perhaps because the media looks many to the ugly).
IMHO we are spirits having a human experience. Some will only go by their five senses to discover empirical evidences of science and the material realm's secrets. Others will recognize the Spirit within all things in this realm and allow those to teach them and raise one to not only having this human experience, but also recognize from whence all life has come from. Recognizing just exactly what that life is and apply it to the heart. This is not found in the organized religious ritualistic practices of mankind, those things for the most part just clean up the outside.
