Not to be nosy or anything, but I can't help but wonder if other people try to maintain the kind of accumulation that I have.
I just counted what I have lined up in my "new" browser -- 211. That isn't all of them by any means. There are at least 10 that, insofar as possible, I use every day, some several times. There are several more that get regular use, just not every day. There are a number that get used a lot (like maps) but not regularly.
How many do you have and how often do you use them?

Same with me, it got too long and it was almost easier to type in what I wanted than look it up in all that mess. On my new browser I have 10 places saved.

My list got too long so I organized it into folders by topic. Oh, I've got folders and the folders have sub-folders and some sub-folders have sub-sub-folders and it's all strung across the top of the screen in the toolbar. That whole 211 is across the top of the screen as in: Bus (business): Kroger and Walgreen's weekly ad followed by: (sub-folder) Co. sites (Company sites) which holds those two companies and two others followed by: (sub-folder) "Business - personal" which holds the life insurance company and the cemetery followed by: (sub-folder) "Business - apartment" holding both the apartment building site and the corporate headquarters site followed by: Amazon shopping (no sub-folder) which is separate from the "Co. sites" because I don't buy from Amazon. The facebook sites (like the one for the apartment building, the newspaper, etc.) are all filed under "F" for facebook. Something like the doctor's office is personal business, but there's a whole toolbar folder (Medfold) for medical stuff including the likes of the drug store, MedlinePlus and "Trash" which is to remind me which sites provided absolutely horrible service in the past.... I was very upset when switching from Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 jumbled the whole thing and hesitate to switch to Windows 10 for that reason.

Lol, you go girl, my mom does things like that. My brain is not that organized. I can't chew chewing gum and walk.
You have Windows 10 now, right? It's a lot better than 8-8.1.

No. I can install the free version, but I haven't installed it (yet) -- too many bad comments, like those from Orogenicman who does know a lot.

Well, I have installed it on my 2 laptops and it works great. I have a HP laptop that's a year old, I have had nothing but trouble with that. I've felt like more than once about throwing in the trash. I put Windows 10 in it and I feel like I have a new computer, it's never worked this well.

From my point of view, windows 10 is not very different from windows 8. There is edge and cortana, which are both very intrusive about personal information, those are different. Then there is the restoration of some of the popular features of the desktop of windows 7 and XP. I like that. I was able to get rid of the third party shell that made windows 8 look like windows 7. But there is no guarantee that it will work for you, so if your system is working well as it is, it might be best to stay with it. I think the wide variety of hardware configurations makes changing unpredictable. Nobody wants to see the blue screen of death.

I don't know how to do some of the things you described, so that is another reason for waiting with Windows 10. I now have maybe 350 bookmarks transferred to Firefox in some reasonable order -- spent all day yesterday on it -- and the mere thought of anything at all disturbing it is a terrible downer.

I had more than I could count at one time, unfortunately that computer and the backups are long gone so starting all over again. But even with all the bookmarks I had I quit adding to them and except for a few that are in there now. If you use Firefox there is a neat add-on that I use, speed dial. I have several tabs and each tab holds 32 sites and I have 10 tabs that are basically full. Each tab is a category, example I have one for camping, one for download sites, one for my licenses, etc. I found that using speed dial I have a thumbnail of all the sites I visit and can get to them much quicker that going through the bookmark/favorite list, even with folders and sub-folders I found it harder and harder to locate a site I wanted to visit. I think the latest Internet Explorer has something like that but I don't know about Chrome or Opera. I have the speed dial backed up so if I lose the computer I can still bring them back easily.

Well, that's another thing for me to explore. I did dig out that Libre site in this deal and bookmarked it but have not yet downloaded it. (Gotta finish the bookmarks transfer before much of anything). The search system in this site seems to be a little tricky. The first time I ran the search for what was posted herein for Libre I ran it on "Open Office" as I couldn't remember the Libre spelling and found it right away. The second time (later, to get the link you posted) it came up empty. It took several attempts to find the link.

Libre works great, but just to let you know if you save files created in Libre and want to be able to use them in MS Office you need to change the format before saving. Now Libre has some great functions that are not in MS Office so it saves in its format as a default. If you do use some of their functions and then save it in xlsx it warns you that those functions will not be saved, and you get an option to save or not.

Too many bookmarks but all are organized with the popular ones at the top bar and then in descending order of importance. I periodically "trash" those I have not used in one year. My wife's sites under its own heading at the top.
