Every morning I get up before the sun comes up and walk one hour. It has kept the weight off and I'm someone with very slow metabolism.

I never had trouble with gaining weight. 25 years ago I met my current wife and she began feeding me big breakfasts with flapjacks and bacon and eggs. She packed me big lunches for work and I had huge dinners. So I gained 20 pounds in a half a year. I have only once lost most of it. I was training to drive a truck, driving nationwide, and I sent all my money home so the wife could pay the bills. So I didn't eat. Some places had free coffee and I would put a couple of packets of sugar in them. I did that for 3 months. Then the trucking firm gave me my own new Peterbilt and I bought a cup that would warm canned food. I would be home for a day or two and I would have to go back on the road for a month. So I would buy canned soups and canned dinners and pack them in the sleeper. Didn't eat three meals a day though, so I didn't gain back the weight. Now I have more money to spend in retirement than I had when I was working. I have enough to buy beer. So with the home meals and the beer I am growing a belly. Fortunately, Costco makes there own Kirkland light beer now.

You no doubt have fast metabolism how lucky are you. I really have to watch what I eat or I'll start gaining.
You should have eaten more while you were on the road. I've heard that drinking lots of liquids are a problem for the big rig drivers....no place to pull over.
