I am considering opening it up for this weekend and just this weekend. Next week when I get back I will reopen it to stay open for a while. Lets see how it works out this time.

The non-member forum has been open for the past 3 weeks and so far nobody has used it, so I am going to just shut it down.

I guess I am a glutton for punishment. I am considering reopening the non-member forum.
Anyone in favor of having that forum open please give me a thumbs up or down.

Ok, it is set for non-members to create a thread but they can't reply to one for now. We'll see how it goes and maybe will let them reply later.

The non-member forum has been open for 2 weeks and no posts. Maybe will keep it open for another 2 weeks and see if there are any posts, and if not it will permanently be eliminated.

I think the majority of hits that appear as guests are bots that are generated by sites like google that try to expand their knowledge base of the web.

I think the majority of hits that appear as guests are bots that are generated by sites like google that try to expand their knowledge base of the web. Yes most of those are search bots from Google and Bing. I can see their IP addresses and when I do a look up it most come back as bots. But there are a few from Kentucky and Florida. When I first had a non-member forum open before it was the jerks from Paths that came in and making obnoxious posts so I had to close it. After some debate I reopened it up for a short time and closed it again, but it is open now to see if it will draw some interest and maybe a new member or two.

The ones from Florida are likely trickle down from AT&T and the ones from Kentucky may be that or may be people who were never with AT&T but are trickle down from Insight. In that case, it's just people looking to see what the situation is.
A good message board, one with people willing to contribute what they know to help someone else, is a treasure. There's no reason to leave the door open for anything else.
